The Silver Hammer have been accepted by IOU Theatre onto their prestigious ‘Space Time Tools Advice’ mentorship programme where we’ll be developing ideas that will inform our next theatre piece… Which is theatre land speak for something very very exciting. Because in practice what this means is we are going to get 3 whole months to play out at IOU’s house. In the process, if we get fag burns in the carpet, turn our music up too loud or get over excited, drink too much cheap cider and end up being sick behind their expensive settee, they don’t mind!*
We’ve co opted the fantastic Amy Hirst to come in as designer and we are going to be experimenting, playing, writing and building in a bid to create prototypes and ideas for ‘Block of Bloc’ - our new show for the winter of 2008 / 2009…
We are totally delighted by this news. It is an amazing thing. Expect wonderfully strange things. More news on this as it comes…
*Don’t worry, it’s just an over excited metaphor. We don’t trash people’s homes and only 1 of us would even dream of drinking cheap cider.
