For Sale, written by Emma Adams, was first performed 26 April – 1 May 2007 with the following Cast: For Sale is a play written specifically for the house in Shipley that it was performed in. At first glance it’s a story about a dysfunctional love affair between Nicky, an Easy Jet Flight Attendant and Alex, her long suffering Estate Agent who has been trying to sell the house for 2 years… But first impressions rarely hold the full picture do they? And so it is with this story. Strange things, surprises and possibly people lie within this home. Through the course of the play all is revealed; dark, funny, sad, bizarre. Sometimes super real, sometimes just surreal. For Sale is all of these things. Here are some reactions we’ve had from people who have seen the play… “Twisted genius” “If there were any seats, you would have been on the edge of them” “The whole house was alive” “Edgy, disturbing, very funny” “Thought provoking” “Sublimely surreal” “A truly unique theatre experience” “Witty and touching” “Not been that blown away by a piece of theatre for a long time” “Slick, funny, brilliantly performed and intricately written” “I didn't trust anybody” “An absolute master piece performance” “Fantastically chilling” “Completely original and compelling” “Stunning piece of theatre” “Funny, disturbing, provocative – BRILLIANT” “I want more” “Why don't adults play more in their houses...?” |
